FUE Hair Transplant
5 months post procedure
3000 grafts
Originally posted on Hairtransplants but wanted to reach others who are debating if they should get a hair transplant. Great overall experience with very nice professional staff. I originally saw a post from a fellow redditor who mentioned Dr. Ali as his hair transplant doctor and showed the results 1-6 months. The results spoke for themselves, so I decided to go with Dr. Ali in Tijuana at Art Line Hair Clinic. I will post my results as well with updates every few months. I decided to visit Art Line Hair Clinic during the week to see what options they had for me and get an overall gauge of how many grafts I needed. Art Line Hair Clinic is located on the 7th floor about a mile and a half away from the border on the main street called Via Rapida. Once I arrived, I was greeted by Dr. Ali and the receptionist who was very kind and sweet. The receptionist speaks both English and Spanish fluently. The receptionist took down some information and asked if I had any questions. Extremely polite, knowledgeable and sweet. Dr. Ali went over my options and assessed the overall health of my hair. I was given a few different options, but I wanted a hair transplant. We proceeded with the drawing of the hairline, and it came out to 3k grafts. I was asked when I would like to come in and I said "As soon as possible." My hair transplant was scheduled for the following week and the receptionist sent me an email with instructions for pre-op and post-op. She also contacted me over WhatsApp to confirm, and if I had any questions or concerns to contact her. Day Of Surgery: I arrived at Art Hair Line Clinic at 8am and was greeted by the receptionist. Prior to surgery the nurse conducts a blood draw to test for HIV etc. The test comes back shortly, and if you are clear you proceed to payment. I paid $2,000 USD for 3k grafts as part of the introductory rate because they just opened the clinic next to Via Rapida and also because I mentioned to Dr. Ali I came from Reddit. I met with Dr. Ali and a (female doctor) where we began drawing the hairline to see where exactly I wanted it. Dr. Ali mentioned that he wanted me to be happy with the hairline and he would re-draw it until I was happy. (This is a verry important step, use facetime and call a relative to get a second opinion, that's what I did.) Next was the shaving of the donor area and a part of my front hairline. I chose not to shave my entire head. I was moved into the operating room and the anesthesia injections were placed and the procedure began. Both doctors and the nurse were involved throughout the procedure. The hair transplant started at 9 and ended right before noon. Overall great experience and there was no pain. Just a sensation in the front and back of your head. Swelling was minimal and I felt back to normal once I woke up the following day (As normal as one can be after a hair transplant procedure.) I'm very happy with the procedure and how well Dr. Ali and his staff treated me and continue to treat me. I will post updates in the future. If you are still deciding on whether or not to get a hair transplant like I was, I would recommend you speak with a doctor to see your options. If a hair transplant is an option for you and you have the budget I would highly recommend it if it is something you struggle with and a head of hair can bring you peace.
