FUE Hair Transplant
10 days post procedure
3120 grafts
I’ll keep this somewhat short. Man, what can I say? So far, this was the best decision I’ve made in 2024 - all 10 days of it. I finally went to Absolute Hair Clinic to get a transplant after hearing so many success stories/people talk so highly about Dr. Laorwong. However, was put in contact with Dr. Panchaprateep instead. I was a bit hesitant and nervous a couple months back when I booked, because all I’ve seen on this subreddit were mainly posts about Laorwong. But man- she’s an expert in her field. A practicing surgeon, professor, and thought leader in the dermatology/hair transplant and hair loss field. I can’t say enough good things about her, but here are a few. Pre-op instructions were clear and easy to follow Gave me a list of hotels near the clinic Prompted me to have my girlfriend come in and confirm the hairline because she would be the one looking at me every day When told that I wanted a somewhat rounded corner, she advised that most Caucasians don’t have rounded. However, allowed the edit when I mentioned I did/do. Very kind of her to give the heads up and still let me make the edit. Was patient with me as I asked questions Took her time as not to rush when given the obstacle of my skin being slippery in regard to graft placement. That’s just a few. She’s a professional. The hair transplant itself was on the medium to pricey end. At 80 baht / graft and 3120 grafts, I ended up paying around $7K for the surgery. I’m blessed with a good job that makes this an easier endeavor than most so i am grateful and don’t take that for granted at all. However, I would recommend many of you that are considering a hair transplant to look at success stories on this subreddit and not take the easy route. I know a $2k surgery sounds nice, but please don’t be impatient. There are businesses that do transplants, and then there are professionals that change lives. You don’t have to choose the same surgeon as me, but just be wary of people that treat this as a business and not an art form. Let me know what you think or if you have any questions. I’ll try to post updates consistently early on into the recover process. Hopefully that wasn’t a memoir. Ps. Kinda like the bald head. If SHTF then so be it! Very grateful.
